Here, you’ll find information about the award-winning Cal Poly Mock Trial Team, the Cal Poly Mock Trial Association, the mock trial class (PLS 308), upcoming events, prominent alumni and our coaches.

Cal Poly Pomona’s philosophy is “learn by doing.” This program embodies that philosophy. Students are first taught how to present themselves in court and then are expected to perform in class and in competition. In further keeping with Cal Poly’s philosophy, the program is lead not by an academic theorist who “studies” trial skills but rather a criminal defense attorney who makes practical use of trial skills on a daily basis. It is this close nexus between the practical world and the classroom that allows the program to foster and generate talented, award-winning students.

At its core, the Cal Poly Pomona Mock Trial Program exists to enhance students’ overall professionalism. Participating students develop the skills of licensed trial attorneys. Whether you want to become a more effective public speaker, a more skillful debater, or a more careful critical thinker, this program is for you. Any future profession or career would benefit immensely from the skills honed in the program.
